The Mad Banshee with Leprosy

I was walking, walking, walking free
In the dark evening, dark glen, dark tree
When a horror, a horror did I see
The horror of a mad banshee
A mad banshee with leprosy.

She screamed and whirled and screamed at me
The screaming twirling mad banshee
The mad banshee with leprosy.

She spun so fast she lost her knee
Off it flew and stumbled she
The horrible, hobbling mad banshee
The mad banshee with leprosy.

Next her arms – they came free
Just a head, a trunk and one knee
left of the mad banshee with leprosy.

Appendages lost? Just about than three
She rolled and rolled closer to me
She screamed and rolled and screamed at me
The mad banshee with leprosy.

I turned, I turned, I turned to flee
back to my room and to safety
Then her head screamed off the mad banshee
and quietly rolled away from me…

I went back home and had toast and tea
and thought no more of the mad banshee
and thanked the Lord for leprosy!
