MATT KEARNEY
Chief Executive Officer
Matt Kearney commenced as Chief Executive Officer of 3rd Space in April 2026. Born and raised in Ipswich, he began his career in South East Queensland before spending the past decade with St Vincent’s Health Australia, most of that time serving as Executive Director of Mission & Health Equity at St Vincent’s Public Hospital Sydney. Currently, Matt also serves as Board Chair for the Haymarket Foundation, a homeless service in Sydney. Until recently he was a Director of End Street Sleeping Collaboration in NSW.
Matt has maintained a lifelong connection to homeless services, beginning as a Rosies volunteer in the early 1990s. He holds a Master of Counselling, a Master of Business Administration and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Matt is deeply committed to strengthening compassionate, dignified services and improving supported pathways to housing for people experiencing homelessness.

AMY CAHILL
Services Manager
Amy leads the Services Team at 3rd Space, overseeing service delivery, staff development, and participant outcomes. Her role combines operational leadership with strategic planning to ensure programs meet community needs and align with best practice.
With international experience across mental health, criminogenic rehabilitation, and public health sectors, Amy has held roles including Practice Lead, Senior Clinician, and Project Manager. She also holds a PhD in Psychology, focused on public attitudes and preventative approaches, a framework now informing global anti-stigma and early-intervention initiatives.
Amy is passionate about creating a psychologically safe workplace and embedding culturally safe, strengths-based approaches. Her vision is to strengthen practice frameworks, foster partnerships, and drive service innovation to help individuals move out of homelessness and into sustainable futures.

ONOLINA MOEFAAUO
Operations Manager
Onolina’s professional journey has been shaped by a passion for people, service, and community. Drawing on her background in hospitality, events management, and community engagement, she brings a relationship-focused approach to leadership and operations at 3rd Space.
She believes that meaningful change begins with connection and strives to create spaces where everyone feels welcomed, heard, and valued. Whether supporting staff and volunteers, strengthening partnerships, or improving organisational processes, Onolina is motivated by the opportunity to help others succeed.
Her commitment to community building and inclusive leadership reflects her belief that every person deserves dignity, belonging, and the chance to thrive. Through her role at 3rd Space, she is proud to contribute to an organisation that supports people through some of life’s most challenging circumstances while fostering hope and connection.

ABBY STIEFEL
Volunteer Coordinator
Abby is deeply inspired by and passionate about volunteers and the significant way they create change and make a lasting positive impact within not-for-profit organisations. With many years of experience in community-focused roles, she holds extensive expertise in volunteer management, peer support work, community engagement and event management. Her diverse background enables her to build strong relationships, foster supportive and inclusive environments, and facilitate meaningful conversations and partnerships.
3rd Space is incredibly lucky to have dedicated and compassionate volunteers who support our mission and they are a vital and valued part of the team. Abby is committed to creating a welcoming space where each volunteer feels connected, supported, appreciated and equipped to make a meaningful contribution. She is driven by her firm conviction that every person deserves fairness, dignity, human connection and hope.
