3rd Space helps thousands of people every year
through the dignity of a hot shower, café style meals as well as access to medical, mental health, law, tenancy, employment, and other services. These services focus on breaking the cycle of homelessness.
TARGETED FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM
The targeted family support program assists families with children and young people under 18 years (including unborn children) who are in vulnerable situations.
Support is available to families with complex needs such as:
Housing instability
Mental health concerns
Substance misuse
Domestic and family violence
Parenting challenges
Lack of sufficient income
Financial stress.
INDIVIDUAL & DAILY LIVING SUPPORT
3rd Space works with visitors to meet immediate needs and plan for tomorrow.
Support may take the form of:
- emergency relief funding, meals, showers, clothes or a day rest area
- emotional and practical support
- medical care, counselling and allied health services
- advocacy and assistance to access housing and any other mainstream services
- information, assessment and facilitate intake to related services
- temporary assistance until an appropriate referral is completed.

MEDICAL SERVICES

3rd Space partners with Anglicare SQ to provide nursing services Monday-Friday.
Specialist foot, ankle and lower limb health care is accessible on a regular monthly basis.ALLIED HEALTH & WELLBEING SERVICES
Registered allied health practitioner Felipe Oliveira offers private and confidential one-to-one services as well as group therapeutic activities monthly to support men in their well-being journey.
Homeless Health Outreach Team supports visitors to 3rd Space and staff to achieve improved mental health and substance misuse outcomes.
3rd Space partners with the Community Controlled Service IUIH to ensure culturally safe planning and delivery of health, family wellbeing as well as social support services.
Specialist health services are accessible on a monthly basis to those who visit 3rd Space, including individuals affected by alcohol and/or substance use concerns.FINANCE, LEGAL & OTHER SERVICES
LawRight attends 3rd Space weekly on Thursdays to support people who have legal concerns.
A specialist disability service and registered NDIS provider visits the centre fortnightly on Wednesdays to provide information and support.
3rd Space is pleased to partner with Services Australia to enable to visitors to access Centrelink and Medicare five days per week.
Information and advice around tenants’ rights is available fortnightly on Wednesdays.
Specialist one to one and group financial counselling and planning is available fortnightly on Thursdays.
MOBILE SERVICES
3rd Space not only operates from Brunswick Street, but also reaches out to people in the community.
Support is provided to individuals and families who have accessed services at the centre to settle into new housing, attend appointments and access other services.
FOOD SERVICES
3rd Space Café provides a welcoming environment for relaxing, replenishing and reconnecting.
Everyday from 8.30am to 2.00pm, the café offers:
Nutritionist-designed menu with healthy options, sensible portions and capacity to address particular dietary needs
A selection of affordable meals as well as tea, snacks and hearty soup and porridge free of charge
Dine in and takeaway option
Respect for all who enter and table service
