Sara keeps the focus firmly on 3rd Space visitors while running a professional organisation with strong governance. She is a seasoned executive, with experience across a diverse range of industries, including in the commercial and not-for-profit sectors. A riveting public speaker and committed leader, Sara is clear that 3rd Space functions to provide a ‘hand up’, not a ‘hand out’.
3rd Space Café chef
We are lucky to have talented chef Andy Lincoln delivering a menu that is not only delicious but (on the whole) good for you. Andy supervises the volunteer kitchen team to produce some of the most creative and best-value meals in Brisbane based on the sometimes unpredictable ingredients sourced from our wonderful suppliers, including OzHarvest, Foodbank and Second Bite.
client services manager
Born in Ireland, educated in France and with a wealth of experience and qualifications – including a Masters in Mental Health – Arone is the backbone of our support crew. In addition to developing policy, supervising the team and overseeing visitor relations, she works tirelessly to promote to the broader community that every individual deserves dignity and respect, regardless of their situation.
After spending time at 3rd Space on placement, Caroline loved it so much she came back full-time. She is now applying her outstanding casework skills – along with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), Master of Counselling and more than 30 years’ experience – to helping our visitors and being an invaluable member of our crew.
Like many of our staff members, Erin started as a volunteer at 3rd Space. After gaining her Diploma of Community Services in 2015, she took on the role of Support Worker and has been helping and empowering 3rd Space visitors ever since.
3rd Space Café supervisor
Finna ensures the smooth running of the 3rd Space Café on weekends and when Monisha is away. Always friendly and forever calm, Finna makes a big contribution to café operations and developing the skills of our volunteers. She also makes a very mean coffee!
business development manager
Fiona has been part of the Fortitude Valley/New Farm community for more than two decades, so understands the important role 3rd Space has been playing in helping those doing it tough in an ever-changing environment. Drawing on 25 years of corporate marketing experience, Fiona is now taking the 3rd Space message to potential donors and sponsors so that the centre can continue to support Brisbane’s homeless for many years to come.
After working across a number of industries, Jade found her calling at 3rd Space. Armed with Diplomas in Community Services and Counselling, and a passion for helping people, Jade is often the first friendly ear that 3rd Space visitors talk to.
Hailing from sunny Middlesbrough in the UK, Jamie started his work life as an electrician. He went on to work with various facilities-management companies before starting his own consultancy. Jamie has worked within a wide range of industries, including offshore oil and gas, petrochemicals, rail, commercial building and government. Now, while he’s not whipping 3rd Space facilities into shape, Jamie is watching a lot of rugby and football…dreaming of when he used to play at a high level (pre injuries and kids) :).
From corporate to retail to farming to health to long-term volunteering at 3rd Space, Jules draws on her diverse background to leader the centre on weekends. She is passionate about the uniqueness of 3rd Space and how it draws people together from all walks of life, and aims to create a feeling of ‘one’ in all her activities.

Armed with a successful 30-year career in corporate communication and project management, Lorelei joined the 3rd Space team in 2016 as a volunteer. She then went on to support the centre’s business development efforts before project managing our move to seven-day opening. After a year of overseeing 3rd Space weekend operations, Lorelei is now back in the business development space.
3rd Space Café manager
Monisha started as a volunteer at 3rd Space and is now managing the 3rd Space Café. She has an MBA, Masters of International Tourism and Hospitality, and an unrelenting drive to help people. Monisha leads the café team with a warm smile and a big heart, creating a welcoming space for our visitors at the café. She also makes one of the best coffees in Brisbane, so come in and try one if you haven’t already.

Another miracle worker with what can sometimes be eclectic ingredients, Phill runs the volunteer kitchen team on weekends and backs up Andy if needed. Phill is close to finishing his degree in nutrition science, providing us with some valuable insights into current trends and practices to help make sure the food served at the café is as nutritious as possible.
Ryan volunteered with 3rd Space in 2014 while studying. He now draws on his background in facilities management, volunteer management and administration to ensure that the 3rd Space volunteer program runs like a well-oiled machine!
With a Bachelor of Social Science and a long and successful career in social work, Therese started as volunteer at 3rd Space before taking on the role of Family Support Worker in 2016. Now in the role of Shift Leader, Therese is often our visitors’ first port of call for a range of issues, from housing to parenting strategies.
3rd Space is lucky to have some 150 volunteers who generously contribute their time to help people in Brisbane doing it tough. There are also many professionals and organisations that generously donate their time to 3rd Space. Thanks to all – we would be lost without you!
